Why is my internet slow?
Slow internet can come from Wi-Fi interference, weak signal, router overload, background downloads or a problem from the service provider.
Common reasons
- Weak Wi-Fi signal or distance from the router.
- Too many connected devices using bandwidth.
- Old router firmware or outdated network hardware.
- Background updates, cloud backup or downloads.
- ISP congestion during busy hours.
What to do
Restart the router, move closer to the Wi-Fi access point, test with an Ethernet cable, stop heavy downloads and compare results at different times of day.
Try a speed test
After applying the tips above, run a new speed test and compare your download, upload, ping and jitter.
